About the Section

The Development Section of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University was established to oversee all proposals, programs, and initiatives aimed at the university's overall development. This section plays an essential role in implementing the university's annual strategic and operational plans, shaping its long-term vision. It also supports decision-making processes to strengthen both academic and administrative areas.

Functions & Duties

The Development Section is entrusted with a broad range of responsibilities, including:

  • Implementation of Schemes/Programs: Managing the implementation of various schemes and programs as per guidelines from the Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission (UGC).
  • Space Allocation: Handling the allocation of ground space, seminar halls, and lecture rooms to external agencies and institutions as per university rules.
  • AIU and IIC Affairs: Managing affairs related to the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and the India International Centre (IIC), as SLBSNSU is an active member of these organizations.
  • Event Organization: Coordinating seminars, symposiums, conferences, workshops, and other major events.
  • Health and Student Services: Managing the Health Care Unit (HCU) to provide medical facilities to staff and students, overseeing canteen facilities, and administering the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the National Cadet Corps (NCC) along with other student facility centres.
  • IQAC Secretariat: Serving as the Secretariat for the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to ensure the quality standards of the university's academic and administrative activities.
  • NAAC Accreditation and Assessment: Assisting in the preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) and managing the NAAC accreditation and assessment process through the IQAC to maintain and enhance educational standards.
  • NIRF Participation: Facilitating the university's participation in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) and implementing initiatives to improve the university's ranking and overall performance.
  • Research and Projects: Assisting in research initiatives and managing various projects funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), Central Sanskrit University (CSU), and other government and non-government bodies.
  • Planning and Monitoring: Assisting in executing the decisions and initiatives of the Planning and Monitoring Board, including agenda preparation for forthcoming meetings.
  • Annual Reporting: Preparing the annual report of the university, highlighting achievements and progress throughout the academic year.

Staff Details

The Development Section operates under the supervision and guidance of the Registrar and is headed by the Deputy Registrar (Accounts & Development). The current non-teaching staffs in the Development Section include:
